Where should I put my cockatiel’s cage

Place the cage in a bright, active part of the home where your bird can see and hear the family, but avoid direct sunlight, kitchen fumes, drafts, and busy doorways. I prefer a secure corner where the cockatiel can observe daily activity while still having a quiet area for uninterrupted rest.

How many toys does a cockatiel need

You don’t need to fill the cage with toys. Start with several safe options, such as a chewable toy, a swing, and a toy that encourages foraging. Rotate them every few days so your bird has something different to investigate. Always check toys regularly for loose parts or damaged materials.

What type of perch is best for cockatiels

Natural-wood perches with varied diameters are my first choice. Different thicknesses allow the feet to move naturally and provide useful variety. Avoid making every perch perfectly smooth and identical, and keep perches positioned so droppings don’t fall into food or water dishes.
