What does healthy cockatiel poop look like

Normal droppings generally have three parts: a formed green or brown fecal portion, white urates, and a small amount of clear urine. Diet can change the color somewhat, so I look at the bird’s overall pattern rather than judging one dropping by itself. Persistent changes in color, consistency, amount, or frequency deserve veterinary attention.

How can I help my cockatiel during molting

Molting takes energy, so I keep the bird on a balanced diet, provide fresh water every day, and make sure it has a quiet, comfortable place to rest. New pin feathers can also make a cockatiel sensitive, so I avoid unnecessary handling around developing feathers.

Is cockatiel molting normal

Yes. Cockatiels naturally replace old feathers, and molting usually happens gradually rather than causing sudden large areas of feather loss. During this period, you may notice loose feathers, pin feathers, and slightly increased grooming. Severe bald patches, damaged feathers, persistent itching, or unusual behavior should not automatically be blamed on molting.
